「This is the place, right…?」
What was the point of it being three stations away from the nearest one?
Suddenly, the meeting place was changed, and the specified location was a cafe near the nearest station.
I compare my current location with the specified place on my smartphone.
What a place overflowing with extrovert vibes…
As I arrived at the designated cafe, I almost let out a sigh of disbelief.
Amidst the high-rise buildings, this one stood out with its strong presence. The glass-walled interior was filled with cutting-edge stylish decor.
I almost stopped in my tracks at the dazzling atmosphere that I would never have encountered if it hadn’t been specified, but I couldn’t keep the client waiting, so I steeled myself and took a step forward.
「Welcome~」
The energetic greeting of a cute-voiced staff member echoed throughout the store. I gave a slight nod and looked around the cafe. Then I spotted a woman sitting at the designated seat.
There, a woman exuding a mature aura was touching her smartphone with a latte in hand.
She had handsome short brown hair and was dressed in casual attire with a black base that complemented her look. She had a natural vibe, as if meeting friends on a day off. I couldn’t help but gasp at her beautiful eight-heads-tall figure.
It’s only natural to be curious if the same person stays in one place for a certain amount of time. Noticing my presence, the woman briefly glanced up from her smartphone towards me.
「Oh? Could you be, Yamanaga-san?」
She speaks to me with a look of realization. Since she knows my last name, she must be the client.
This cool and mature woman is Hoshino Aina-san.
「Yes, I’m Yamanaga from the housekeeping service.」
「Fufu, a boy??」
「Yes, is that a problem??」
「No, no, not at all.」
Hearing those words, I breathe a sigh of relief.
「But I was surprised by the same last name as the company, are you the president by any chance??」
「No! T-That’s not it! I’m just a helper.」
The president is my mother. Not me.
If I, who have no knowledge or know-how of management, became the president, I’m confident I could drive this successful company into the red within a month.
「I see, just a helper… That’s admirable. Good boy, good boy.」
「W-Wait!? What are you doing!?」
I instinctively dodge as she suddenly tries to pat my head.
Wait? Maybe I shouldn’t have dodged??
「Ahh~ sorry. I just patted a kid about your age downstairs out of habit.」
「I-I see.」
To think there’s a guy with such a beautiful older sister.
And he gets head pats too?? Unforgivable.
「Right, I haven’t introduced myself yet. I’m Hoshino Aina, the one who requested the service this time.」
Aina-san says this and bows her head slightly.
「Um, I’m Yamanaga Takumi. Nice to meet you.」
「I see, Takumi-kun… Then, I’ll call you Taa-kun.」
「Taa-kun?」
「Yeah, I feel like we can become closer friends this way than just calling you by your name. Is that… not okay?」
「No, no, it’s totally fine.」
「Ufufu… I see, then you can call me whatever you like too. Even just Aina without honorifics…」
「No, Aina-san is fine.」
「Muu~ I see, not enough… Then, how about Onee-chan…」
「Aina-san, I’d like to get started on work right away.」
What’s with this forward person? It’s way better than being stiff, but I’m confused because I’ve never been treated like this by the opposite sex??
「Vuu~ Taa-kun is so cold…」
「Please stop… We’re attracting attention…」
Looking around, I see a few people glancing our way.
Well, with such a cool Onee-san talking like this. The gap makes you curious, I guess.
If I were an onlooker, I’d definitely be doing the same. If I were an onlooker and not the person involved.
「Ehh~? It’s everyday business for me, so it’s not a problem, though?」
「It’s a big problem for me, I hardly ever get this much attention.」
In elementary and middle school, I think I was an averagely good student. Thanks to being the class representative, I had a decent number of friends, and I was invited to hang out a lot by the guys because I won prizes in the prefectural tournament with my club.
But for some reason, it stopped there.
According to my friends, “You’re just that type.”
Why? Isn’t that harsh?
「Is that so… Taa-kun, you’re pretty cool though…」
「What was that??」
「No, no, just talking to myself.」
「I see.」
As I look back on my past and feel disheartened, Aina-san muttered something under her breath.
Scary… Did she just say, “Thought so, you damn introvert”?
The dark side of girls I had heard about from a female friend before. It’s probably not as bad as it’s exaggerated to be, but I remember that conversation so vividly that I unconsciously shrink back.
「Then, shall we stop chatting here and go??」
「Go where?」
As I looked at Aina-san, she smiled brightly and said.
「Isn’t it obvious…!! To my little sister’s house.」
